Enrolments in Years 1 - 6
We accept enrolments for all year levels at any time of the year for those living within the School Zone.
Our School Zone
'Find My School' hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Information on the site is updated in Term 1 each year, ready for the Year 6 to 7 transition period.
To assist Strathmore North in assessing your child’s eligibility for enrolment, please include in your enrolment application original or certified copies of:
Rental agreements or unconditional contracts of sale
plus 2. A copy of two of the following:
electoral enrolment confirmation
council rates notices
other official documentation that demonstrates permanent residency at that address such as a current utility bill.
Documents should show the same address and parent’s/carer’s name as recorded on the school enrolment application form.
On request, you may also be required to complete a statutory declaration confirming the student is living in the address provided in the enrolment application and that the arrangement is genuine and intended to be permanent.
Note: Enrolment applications may not be successful if the requested documentation is not provided.
Birth Certificate and Proof of Immunisation
Both a birth certificate and proof of immunisation must be sighted at the office on enrolment. By law, primary schools are required to request and record information on the immunisation status of students prior to enrolment. Parents or guardians must provide an immunisation status certificate to the school regardless of whether the child is or is not immunised. From 28 February 2018 only an Immunisation History Statement from the Australian Immunisation Register can be accepted as proof of immunisation status on school entry.
Enrolment Priority Order
Students for whom their permanent residential address is within the school zone.
Students who have a sibling enrolled at the school.
Students in order of proximity (by straight line from the Administration area of the school) of their home to Strathmore North Primary.
Families seeking enrolment, who are outside the school zone will be asked to place their names on a waiting list.
Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information about Victorian school zones. Students residing in this zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address. The Department provides guidance through the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and the freedom to choose other schools, subject to facility limitations. You can find more information and answers to frequently asked questions on the Department’s website under School zones.
